Gene Mutation, Thus Evolution, is Not Random

When we think of Darwinian evolution, one supposition come to mind: gene mutation (evolution) is random.

Harvard neuroscientist Rudolph Tanzi, Ph.D., “When gene mutations occur, there is a mechanism that has to do with the experiences you’ve had in life. So you have a certain experience in life and this will change your gene activity. For gene activity to change because of experience, the structure of DNA and how it’s folded changes. Now certain areas of the DNA that are exposed that weren’t exposed before become vulnerable to mutation. So that’s not random. Mutations are occurring in certain spots, because the DNA’s been exposed, because you’ve had a certain experience in life.”1
This ups the ante considerably when it comes to taking responsibility for our experiences!
